The Nerds (Spaz, Mongo, Biff and Stretch) are America's Party Band Fun-omenom. Formed in 1985, their stage show and banter was largely influenced by Monty Python's love of the absurd and Howard Stern's disregard for tact. They have performed on MTV, The View, Last Call with Carson Daly, and several other well-known TV shows. If you keep an eye out, you can even spot some of their posters on several episodes of Law and Order! They have played many celebrity-hosted events and have provided entertainment for countless corporate clients including Microsoft, Google, Merrill Lynch and all of the pharma companies that share the Princeton Corridor. The Nerds have shared the stage with some of music's biggest acts – including Sheryl Crow, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Train – and have performed for a number of political figures. Every so often, you can catch them performing alongside famous fans like Jon Bon Jovi, Dickie Betts, and The Late Night Band.

19 years in the making, ICEPICK TO THE MOON is a feature length documentary about obscure stripmine crooner, Fred Lane, the pants-less, Band Aid-adorned performer who achieved a worldwide cult following starting in the Eighties when the Shimmy Disc label made Lane’s records easier to find. Lane is described by his obsessed fans as “subversive,” “completely satirical,” “the Dada Duke Ellington,” and “Demon Frank Sinatra.” His fans have spent years examining every detail of Fred Lane’s albums, and yet whatever information they have found out about their hero has only led them deeper into blissful confusion. ICEPICK TO THE MOON not only examines the cult of Fred Lane fans, but also pulls the curtain back on the mysterious artist who is Fred Lane, from his early involvement with the Raudelunas arts collective in Alabama in the Seventies, to his current occupation making whirligigs to sell on the arts and crafts show circuit.
